Little house in Shelby

So now I finally got water into the house.  Spring of 2013.   Had to did up the old lead pipe.

These are some before and after pictures of my tile job.  It's the first time I tiled and it wasn't too bad!

Nice and deep so nothing freezes!

Still needs a stove and I'm going to tile a back splash.  Of course it would be nice to have running water first!

The wall is a mint green, with the white trim, it looks real pretty.

The hall cabinet is not hung yet.  Once it's up I will move the toaster, coffee pot, over there.

The living room.  The wall you see here was added on.  When bought the place this looked like an old storage shed.  I tore down a wall between kitchen and living room and added this wall to make a small bedroom.

Door straight ahead is bedroom door and to the right is a little bathroom .

This is a pull down stair.  The attic had a little opening in the bathroom before,  so I moved it and  when you pull this down it's a  pretty nice stair ladder.  The attic is huge.  20' x 20' with a board floor.  NO insulation!  Well I put some in, but I'm really looking forward to getting some blown in.  How did people live in Shelby MT without insulation!  I can't imagine.

This bedroom has not been worked on yet.  Except for adding a door, so you don't have to go through the bathroom to get in to it anymore.

These are "before or in progress" pictures of living, bedroom

This is one of the basement walls.  A scary foundation!

basement walls in one closet.   There is some foundation, but I dont' think it all has a  foundation.  We did add some extra supports just in case!

When I bought the place it had one long bathroom.  You had to walk through the bathroom to get to the bedoom..  there was a huge heavy green tub, Gross sink, and old cabinets.  The wall had an extra wall.  Just empty space, with no insulation still!  So I ripped it all out and made it into two bathrooms.  One is full and one is half.

I added this back door.

The bedroom closet.  This was an old entrance.  It not only had no insulation, but the walls had no studs either.  So we had to start with building a stud wall, insulating and then drywall.  What a transformation!

That is tea.  I drink a lot of herbal teas!

Meat in the freezer

Both Mark and James got a deer this year.  Last year Mark's meat was so good!  We ground it with a bit of bacon and it made the best burgers ever!
This year they want to make a bunch of Jerky too.
