Michael/ Next baby

It was Friday night. Rick had missed Michael's 16th birthday, so last January Rick wanted to do something special and have a party for Michael's 16th birthday.
He decided to surprise him.
So Monica made punkin pies and I made Tapioca and salsa.
Miriam, Gina, Maria, Kendra and Nettie plus John Hale came up for our party too.
We totally surprised him.

We were up visiting really late. It was probably midnight and we had everyone loud and crazy. when I got a call from my client saying her contractions were about 8 min apart.
Well needless to say I didn't get much sleep.
The baby was born about 4 am. It was another exciting birth with one little scary stuck shoulder!
So 2 more births to go for June/July. Then I get a brake till Aug. then we have 4 due in the 1st week of Sept. Glad to be busy this yr!

birth

We had a very nice, but exciting birth on Sunday.
Everything ended up fine and he was a beautiful 10 lb 1 oz baby.
Exciting just because there were a few times that made Sherry and I a bit nervous.
He was a BIG baby. Probably our biggest at the birth center.

This was our first of 4 lady's that are due within a week or so.

filter queen vaccum and filter

We just had a salesman leave. It was interesting.
I said they could come because they offered me, 2 Lg pizzas, 2 movie tickets, $50 gas card and motel room for 2 nights. Well that disappointingly was a bit deceptive. The pizza and gas card was a rebate deal. Had to go to the movies 8 times, pizza only if you went to the movies on the same day. The gas was also $10 rebates 5 times.
So instead I choose 2 fishing poles for the boys, and a garden set. Not quite the same, but I didn't think the others would pan out.
Anyways the demonstration was very interesting. All the dirt in our air, how normal vacuums work, all the dirt in our coach was awful. It makes you sick.
It seems like it would be a healthy thing to have, but it's hard to imagine spending over $2000 for a vacuum and a air cleaner. It was a package deal.
But on the other hand he proved how much dirt goes back into the air after you vacuum with a normal vacuum. With falter queen it actually filters the air. only .01 % goes back into the room. well life is ruff, we will have to suffer with dust I guess.
I haven't been as happy with the Dyson as I thought I would be. It clogs up and doesn't suck as well as it did.
So our exciting day with our salesman.
Anyone want to see it? If I give him 6 referrals, and 2 people buy, then I get either a new pots and pan set or a air purifier. Let me know, I can send the man your way!! :)

fawn

We found this little fawn in our back yard. No mama around. It was amazing, because it just laid perfectly still and didn't care if we touched it. We carried it around even. If we put it down, it would follow Mark. Probably wondered if Mark was it's mama.

We tried giving it some milk.

well later we saw a deer with another baby, so we left it hoping that it's mom wasn't being neglectful. As long as we were around she wasn't going to come close. So we looked later and couldn't find her.

Dakota house almost done!

The bedrooms turned out really nice. They had these weird fiber walls. We textured the walls and painted them a nice light tan color.
They got new carpet too.

An old fashioned ironing board.

I'll have to get some pictures of the kitchen too. It turned out beautiful with the hickory cabinets and dark counter tops.

Lost and losing items

I have has such a frustrating time with loosing things. I have read before that generally people spend a huge amount of time looking for things. The point in this book was that if we could get organized, we would save lots of time everyday.

Well, I constantly have a few missing items. This week was bad!

I borrowed a DVD from a Dr (the OB in town) called Shoulder Dystocia Drill. It’s an 18 min video , showing exactly what happens in a shoulder Dystocia and how to plan on what to do to prevent harm to the baby. It was an OK presentation. Not really good. I had it in my computer to keep it safe till I could return it. When one day it was gone! I began my search slowly at first. But as time was going on, my tension was rising. It’s like I was searching every waking minute. I begin cleaning out ever area, looking for a disk. I changed the whole living room around hoping it would show up, I searched the car, the birth center, upstairs, down stairs, all computer bags, every drawer. I just can’t imagine where else to look.
This isn’t the first time things like this have happened. It consumes your thoughts, from morning to night.

(Well speaking of things that are lost. The camera to computer plug is missing again! !!!!)
Well you might think this is silly, why not buy another. Well this little disk ended up costing $90! I was blown away. At the same time I also lost a library book. It couldn’t be a cheap library book, no, it was a new one and worth $25! $25 for one book!
So here I was spending $115 on lost items besides consuming my mind for the last week.
Well the good part is my living room got all changed around and I like the lay out much better. The other good part is that the book I like is one that I liked. It was called “Martha rules”. Rules to make a business work, by Martha Stewart.

I figured somehow the Lord knew I need own this DVD. The Ob said that studies show that watching and taking time to plan once a yr brings better outcomes with Shoulder Dystocia. So maybe the Lord knows. All Midwives will have shoulder Dystopia at times. I personally was a Shoulder Dystopia baby. I could have been brain damaged, had erbs palsy or be dead. My Dad over heard the Dr say, should we save the mom or the baby. I weighed 11 lbs 3 oz.

Pathfinders campout

Monica, Mark and James got to go on a campout. Pathfinders is sort of like a boy/girl scouts, except it's Christian.
You earn badges, remember pledges, learn to do good deeds, etc.
So at this camp they needed to learn to start a fire without matches, etc.

Building a new swing

Monica LOVES to swing. The boys put up a swing, and it didn't last long. So Rick decided to build a swing that would last and no one would get hurt.

Trip to Kalispell

I usually make a monthly trip to Kalispell. This way I get to visit everyone, get my shopping done at Walmart, Lowe's and Costco. With gas prices I was wondering if I would be able to still make my trip this month. (Gas is now $3.95 per gallon, doubled from just a couple of months ago, when we thought $1.95 was horrible)

Well Maria needed Jon to help her finish her basement. (taping, mudding, texture etc.) So I brought him down in the morning, dropped my car off at Toyota for some $500 routine work, and then hung out at Martha's with June, April, Moriah, and later Miriam too. We had such a nice time.

Then Cody put on my new hitch so we can pull our new tent trailer. The last of the money from the tax return.

Gareth trying to drive the car already!
Then off to my shopping. While at Costco shopping calmly all alone, suddenly Miriam, Gina, Jon and 3 more friends showed up to "help" me shop. They can be embarrassing at times as they climb into shopping carts, etc.. Then add Martha who planned on meeting me there with the children for pizza and we ended up a huge crew at Costco, eating pizza and hot dogs. I had lots of help to load my car with grocery's and the surprise recliner for Fathers day. I couldn't have done with out their help and it was fun to see them all happy.

Trying to get the recliner in the car. I am so thankful they were there to help me.

Mark, Paul and Hans
Gina and EmmaThen I headed over to Maria's to see Gina's new bike Rick had bought her, and pick up James. Maria's house is coming along great.
It was a great day, seeing all my children and grandchildren. Lee's big smile and wanting to be held. Nettie and Kendra always excited with a big hug to see me. Grandchildren begging to come home with me......
Just felt like a very profitable day.
Got home at 11:30 pm., put away frozen stuff, but I still need to unload the car. We bought about 16 gallons of milk, 15 lbs of strawberry's, 20 lbs of hamburger patties, spinach, lettuce, 10 dozen eggs, peppers, peas, #10 cans of fruit, tomato's, and lots more. I try to buy as much as I can at Costco and as little as I can the rest of the month here. It was a little easier in the winter, because if we ran out of fridge space we can put milk on the back porch (the giant fridge) Now we have to fit everything in the 2 refrigerators and one freezer.

bread

Tonight I made bread. I haven’t made it for a long time. I love making it and having healthy bread to snack on, but every time I make it, I seem to gain a few pounds. So I figure it’s easier not to make it. I guess my children must have missed it though. They were pretty excited to get it out of the oven and dig right in. It was the heavy granny stuff too. I made some cream of cauliflower soup and it was a great dinner. Rick really likes some meat though. Like he just can’t get full without some meat it seems.

Finnally this week I have time to breathe again

I've been working every single day on the "Dakota house" . We named it this because it's on the street called Dakota.
Every morning I wake up the children and say "get something to eat quick, we got to go" Jon has been working on cabinets and installing the dishwasher, Monica painting, James yard work, Mark mowing lots of lawns. I run back and forth to Ace hardware or the lumber company etc. We are all learning a lot.
Thankful for Jim the man working for me. He's knows a little about everything and knows how to make things look right without spending a bunch.

Well I have dreams of making a bunch on this little house. But even if I only make $10,000, well that's still a bunch. But what if it doesn't sell!!! That's a scary thought. Renting it seems so dead endish. I can't rent it for enough to make any money, so I'll just be sitting on the money I invested. Plus I have debts to pay off. If I could pay off the debts then the investment will be worth it.
