This a at a pool up in Jack's ridge. It's a water fall behind going into a hot tub, then a slide that Monica is standing next to.
I was on shift last night and 2 babies were born. They were big baby's, over 7 lbs which is very big here. The one mom's name was honey. So I was taking care of my honey I would say. She spoke some English, so this was nice.
It's fun when you can communicate enough to help them through labor. Her husbands name was Andy, and he works at a grocery store. At all the stores they have 2-3 people standing in each isle. I'm not sure why. He said he makes about 150 pesos a day $3. they would love to come to America and I asked him "why, this is a nice country" they have this idea because the wages are so much higher that they would be well off, but their prices are very low here too. So I wonder how much it really helps. An ultra sound costs about 3 days wages, at home a ultrasound costs about $700. whats that about 6 days wages. More if you were working minimum wage. So maybe they are better off here and they don't realize it.
So this evening we went to Jack's ridge. The drive it self is a radical experience. We took a taxi and it's amazing to live through it. I realized they never go over 25-30 MPH, so that's why you can dodge all the cars, dogs, children in the roads.
But it is beautiful on this ridge. You can see the whole city. It's a resort type place. So after we were sweaty and dizzy from going up and down stairs in the heat we went into an air conditioned coffee shop and had a wonderful icy drink. Mine was almond chocolate, Monica had a banana split, much like America, but the ice cream was weird looking. Good, but different. They had big beautiful birds, a neat swimming pool and some shops. We found a few items to bring home.

Shows how diverse. Rich houses and the very poor all with in the same view.
i cannot believe how happy Monica looks! I wondered if she would like that little baby the other lady brought along.
